All About Books πŸ“š

Hello my loves so I know I wasn’t going to be online until January but thought this would be a nice little post to do as I received some more books for Christmas πŸ™‚ this post is going to be my Favourite 3 books I read this year….Books I’m looking forward to reading next year and books I didn’t complete this year!!

So here goes

Top 3 books

Miss peregrines peculiar children by Ransom Riggs. I have wanted to watch the film so bad but haven’t managed to yet 😦 I saw this on Amazon and thought let’s give it a go and honestly I’m so glad I did πŸ™‚ I’ve already reviewed these books so won’t go on but honestly if you haven’t read this book I urge you to!

Behind closed doors by B.A.Paris This book stayed with me for a while after I read it,it was so powerful and just kept me on the edge of my seat!

Girl on the train by Paula Hawkins. I loved this book a few twists and turns you have no idea who’s responsible or what’s going to happen and as usual the movie nowhere near matched up to the book(however Emily blunt did a fab job!)

Books I gave up on in 2016

I’ll preface this by saying I read 21 new books this year( I read more than 21 books but reread some old favs like HP) now for me that was ALOT of books last year I read 5….In the whole year!! So I really got the reading bug again this year so when I started some of these they just didn’t have the pace that some books did so I gave them up and will return to them hopefully next year!

Maze runner, girl with all the gifts, one day, amulet of Samarkand, either, our endless numbered days, all the bright places, gone girl, got book 2,Shakespeare secret and divine by mistake

These books are top of my list for next year πŸ™‚

Hollow city (peregrines book 2)The secret ( I read Katherine diamonds novel The teacher this year and loved it) Avalon, The distant hours by Kate Morton an author I discovered this year,The marble collector by Cecilia Ahern I love her novels, Nerve, The alchemist a series of novels based around Nicholas Flamel, The Danish girl I sobbed like a baby at this film so want to read the book! Bonkers by Jenifer Saunders I just adore this woman!! Zoo by James Patterson and lastly The architects apprentice πŸ™‚

Blogmas Day 20 Could you be on the naughty list this year?

So firstly thank you for your support over my first blogmas journey I hope that you’ve enjoyed reading the posts as much as I did writing them πŸ™‚

Secondly I hope you all have an amazing Christmas and a wonderful new year I won’t be online from 22nd Decmber-2nd January πŸ™‚ xxxxxx

Could I be on the naughty list?

I try. I try to be good. I try to be the best I can. I try not to whine and moan about all the things I don’t have. I try not to judge others or situations. I try to be a good citizen, do my bit help out. I try to look after this beautiful planet we call home, recycling, using less energy, picking up litter. I try to stay positive build people up instead of knocking them down. I try to be honest not even little white lies. I try to be friendly approachable and helpful, I try to do good everyday. I try to be more in the moment, spend time with my loved ones, make some memories ask them how they are doing. I try. I try. So I’d like to think that in doing that I’m not on the naughty list…but is anyone ever completely a saint?

Blogmas Day 19 Favourite Childhood memories

Christmas has always and will always be the most magical time for me I just love it all my family together, eating too much probably drinking too much too just having a laugh and spending time together πŸ™‚

Thankfully my parents used to record me and my brother opening our Christmas presents so I have some gems for you from my childhood sadly not the actual video clips but certainly things that will make you laugh πŸ™‚

πŸŽ„Not a funny memory but…every Christmas me and my brother would wake up early and make sure the other one was awake then we’d go into my mum and dad’s room to wake them up..my dad would always say “it’s too early go back to bed” so we would…5 minutes later he would come into our rooms saying “why aren’t you two awake yet santa might’ve been!”

πŸŽ„ Also me and my brother would have to wait at the top of the stairs with mum whilst dad went and checked that santa had infact been…then we were allowed to go and see what santa had brought us!

πŸŽ„ One year I’d ask for a typewriter and a computer(an old school leappad type computer not a real computer) que tiny Natalie opening the typewriter “oh it’s a computer” mum&dad “no it’s a typewriter” que tiny Natalie opening the computer “oh it’s a typewriter” mum&dad “no that’s the computer”

πŸŽ„One year no matter what present I opened my response was “oh that’s just what I wanted”

πŸŽ„We used to have a coal fire in our house, my dad made me aware that he’d had to put the fire out so santa could come down the chimney…I look dead at the camera put my hands on my hips and say “well how are we supposed to keep ourselves warm?” πŸ˜‚

πŸŽ„My brother opened up a present which was a tamigotchi (oh yeah!!) And out dropped a real life spider haha!! My mum pops up “that’s not a pet you can’t keep that” as my brother and me are running away from this spider!

πŸŽ„The best memory ever…so me and my brother used to open our presents in size order…under the impression that the bigger presents were probably the more expensive presents lol…so one year my brother had left this huge present until last I’d opened all of mine and so sit and watch him open his…it was one of those large felt drawings you could colour in..my parents had brought him a spice girls one because having a big sister meant he had to listen to spice girls and as you do sing along so my parents assumed hed like it “oooooo what is it? It’s a…spice girls? Spice girls? Spice girls picture?” *Throws it down* His little face was so funny!!

I could go on for ages with memories but these ones are my absolute favorites so I’ll stop here!!! I hope you have fond memories at this time of year xxx

Blogmas Day 17 surviving boxing day salesΒ

Sales SALES S.A.L.E.S

Ok….it’s anti social I know but actually the best time to get sale items are either Christmas eve or Christmas day online!!! That’s when I do most of my sales shopping. However if your going to brave the shops here are my tips…

πŸ’šMake a list. Make a list of the items you really want, like cannot live without, didn’t receive from Santa kind of things and STICK to the list!!

πŸ’šWould you buy it full price? Now I’m a sucker for the sales sticker I really am however I always look at the item and think two things…would I buy this full price? Will it go with other items in my wardrobe? If I answer yes then I buy it!

πŸ’šeBay. So many people put their unwanted gifts on eBay the next day it’s brutal really but it gives you chance to snag some bargains!

πŸ’šBuy timeless pieces and out of season pieces. Ok so if you don’t follow current trends like me…then buying out of season pieces is ideal because they are cheaper and will keep! Also by buying timeless pieces (blazers, white shirts, boot cut jeans) you will create a solid base for your wardrobe

So there are a few of my tips….can’t give them all away now can I!!! πŸ˜‰ Happy shopping x
